Celebrating rich cultural heritage in Romania

This summer, KCCF was pleased to visit the heritage properties in Transylvania, owned by the Fund’s Romania subsidiary, to see first-hand the impact of ongoing efforts to preserve Romania's rich cultural heritage and natural environment.
At The King’s House in Viscri, it was wonderful to find the property bustling with visitors from around the world, all keen to learn more about the region’s unique traditions, historic architecture and the association of His Majesty with Romania. Highlights included the acclaimed Fragilis Terra exhibition by Romanian sculptor Virgil Scripcariu, the popular new craft space encouraging creative engagement for visitors of all ages, and a special children’s concert hosted as part of the SoNoRo Musikland Festival, which brought music and storytelling to families in the village.
Nestled in the heart of rural Transylvania, The King’s Retreat guesthouse in Zalanpatak welcomes visitors seeking tranquillity, natural beauty and authentic local hospitality. Recent investments, building on the property’s original restoration in 2010, have carefully enhanced guest facilities while preserving the character of the historic buildings, helping to safeguard the retreat for future generations to enjoy.
