
Food rescue stories
We’re making a real difference for communities across the UK. This is a direct result of the incredible efforts of people from across the sector, uniting to find innovative new approaches. From our landmark food industry initiative which is unlocking additional sources of food to our grassroots small grants, read on to find more examples of the Coronation Food Project at work.

ASDA / IPL
Asda and IPL began supporting the Coronation Food Project with a pledge of 1 million meals in Christmas 2023. This pledge was fulfilled with a proportionate split of meat, potatoes, and vegetables, which enabled FareShare’s charities to provide balanced and nutritional meals to their service users.

Country Food Trust
A Coronation Food Project grant is supporting the work of the Country Food Trust to provide high-protein nutritious meals to people in need.

East Belfast Mission
The Coronation Food Project is supporting East Belfast Mission’s food poverty projects, including a daily community fridge.

Friary Park Community Centre
The Friary Park Community Centre provides a food service, set up during the pandemic, to residents living on the Friary Park Estate in West London. Every Thursday, Friary Park gets a delivery from The Felix Project’s West London depot of around 300kg of food.

Home-Start Greenwich
Home-Start Greenwich provides a food service for parents and offer a free community meal on a Friday. To do this Home-Start relies on deliveries from The Felix Project.

Local Welcome
Local Welcome uses the magic of food to bring communities together, reducing isolation whilst also addressing food insecurity - supported by a grant from the Coronation Food Project.

Love North Southwark
Love North Southwark is a pantry in Bermondsey, serving hundreds of people each week with subsidised food and household items which receives deliveries from The Felix Project.

M&S / 2 Sisters
In a groundbreaking initiative, M&S Food and its long-term supplier, 2 Sisters Food Group, a prominent player in the food industry, teamed up with FareShare to combat food insecurity in the UK through the Coronation Food Project.

Morrisons / Newton
Morrisons has taken a project management-led approach to tackling food waste through a new collaboration with FareShare and Newton, highlighting the importance of operational efficiency in addressing complex supply chain challenges.

Nestle / Arla
Two of the UK’s biggest food manufacturers, Arla and Nestle, formed an alliance to donate the equivalent of 1.25 million breakfasts to the food charity FareShare. The supply of Arla Cravendale and Nestle's Shreddies have supported families and communities in need across the UK.

Southgate Mosque Food Bank
Every Monday, Southgate Mosque provides a food bank service and a free café for people living in Southgate and the surrounding areas - now supported by deliveries from The Felix Project.

UKHarvest
UKHarvest’s Grub Club initiative is supported by the Coronation Food Project grants programme. 10 primary schools with high levels of pupil premium around the Chichester area receive food through UKHarvest's surplus food collections, feeding 40 families per school.
